Varied programme on the relevance of light in teaching and research
Talks, presentations and workshops
More than 20 universities from across Germany, the Netherlands and Switzerland are involved in the event, as well as over ten companies from the lighting sector. Experts and students from a range of disciplines – including media, art, design, engineering and architecture – will provide insights into their eclectic work with light in a varied programme of talks, presentations and workshops.
There will also be exemplary light-based university projects, innovations and products on show from research institutes and companies. During the four-day event, various universities will set up light installations around HAW's art and media facilities ready to reveal them to the public on 19 February 2015.

CITY ELEMENTS by Hess – Multi-functionality at its best
As specialists in designing exterior lighting and street and site furnishings, Hess will be presenting multi-functional CITY ELEMENTS illuminating columns as part of the 'Lichtcampus' experience. These products have potential extending far beyond their illuminating function. Together, the most innovative LED technology and individual elements that can be combined as desired open up many additional functions for urban requirements. These include providing power and water, creating festive illuminations, installing a camera in areas where security is a priority, emergency call functionality, attractive light projections or e-mobility.
Hess will be giving a talk about the wide range of uses and possible ways to combine CITY ELEMENTS in Room 1 of the university on Tuesday, 17 February 2015 from 3.00 p.m. to 3.30 p.m. All are welcome.
