Architectural congress deals with the "living space future"

10th September, 2013

Inspiring concepts for the design of indoor and outdoor space

From 20th to 21st November, 2013, Heinze, the established information partner for the construction industry, invites architects, planners and decision makers for this year’s ArchitekTOUR congress to the Werkzentrum in Ludwigsburg, Germany. With lectures and best-practice-examples, the event has its focus on the "living space future". Hess presents pioneering lighting solutions for the public space on the basis of selected projects.

Innovative lighting solutions

Global developments such as the increasing urbanisation present in particular cities with major challenges. New urban structures and transport concepts require well conceived lighting solutions that take the safety of the residents as well as the legal requirements for energy-efficient street lighting into account. In addition to high technical requirements, the optical appearance of luminaires plays an important role. And this more than ever. Especially in demand are timeless and very functional models that fulfil different lighting tasks in urban space.

Successful combination of design and functionality

The broad product portfolio of Hess corresponds exactly to these requirements: The lighting specialist from Villingen-Schwenningen (Germany) offers a range of high quality, technically advanced and design-oriented products for energy-efficient outdoor lighting. Hess luminaires distinguish in their distinctive design, sound workmanship with quality materials as well as their, to the particular use optimally tailored, lighting technology.
The product portfolio is completed by high quality street and site furnishings. This perfect combination of lighting and furnishings enables realising holistic concepts of urban and landscape design. The specialists of Hess accompany decision makers from planning to installation and also develop personalised special solutions.

Student accompanying project "disPLAY02"

Future architects stage an "experience space future" with exhibitor products

Part of this year's event is the workshop "disPLAY02" – a student accompanying project of the congress in cooperation with universities and colleges. Students thereby deal with products and services of ArchitekTOUR exhibitors in a practical project work. The aspiring architects design new concepts for and with these products and present their ideas in an exhibition for the congress.
This year, students from the Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart will reinterpret the exhibitor products with the working title "experience space future" under the direction of the visionary architect Prof. Tobias Wallisser from the office LAVA (Laboratory of Visionary Architecture, Stuttgart), Prof. Nicolas Fritz and Prof. Uwe Fischer of the Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart.
Prof. Tobias Walliser will introduce the design draft at the beginning of the congress on 20th November, 2013, in Ludwigsburg.

Hess provides light column CITY ELEMENTS for "disPLAY02" project

As an exhibitor Hess participates also in the "disPLAY02" project and provides the student team with the design luminaire CITY ELEMENTS.
CITY ELEMENTS is a multifunctional lighting system that is suitable for all lighting requirements. With its individually combinable single elements, three different diameters and variable heights from 4 to 9 metres, the light columns can be adapted to the urban environment as well as to respective individual requirements.
Thanks to this flexibility combined with an extremely energy-efficient operation, CITY ELEMENTS are tailor-made for an atmospheric illumination of urban living space.
