The overview of the currently available funding options:
Salix Finance: Ring Fenced Fund & Energy Efficiency Loan Scheme
Funding available for:
- All energy efficiency measures
- Loans targeted at specific projects, which when completed repay their costs to Salix from the energy savings.
- There is a focus on cost effective projects with high carbon reduction impact.
- Preference will be given to those projects that can deliver longer term cost effective CO2 savings.

Ring Fenced Fund:
- Salix provides grants of typically £250,000 and up to £500,000 in some cases to kick-start an energy efficiency drive affecting all components of the recipient's estate.
|
Energy Efficiency Loan Scheme:
- £50 million has been made available by Salix finance and additional funding from Government to support an interest free loans schemes for public sector organisations.
- The loans are available to cover the full cost of installing energy efficiency products.
- Repayments of the loan are expected to be covered using the energy savings achieved by the projects.

- Maximum 5 year payback period and £100/tCO2 lifetime basis

Enhancing Communities (SITA Trust)
Funding available for:
- physical improvements to community facilities, with awards between £1 and £50,000, e.g. sport and recreation facilities, public parks, cycle paths, public playgrounds etc.

Eligible region:
- 90 funding zones around qualifying waste processing sites owned by SITA UK. On-line postcode checker is available at www.sitatrust.org.uk/postcode-checker or call on 01454 262910 with your project site’s postcode.

Eligible Organisation types:
- Not-for-profit organisations including community groups, parish councils, charities, local authorities and voluntary organisations.
|
Funding requirements:
- projects with an overall value not exceeding £250,000
- SITA UK requires that 11.5% of the money provided is recovered from third parties (= Contributing Third Party (CTP) payment).
- The maximum duration of any project development is three years.
- Projects which have already been carried out or started (no retrospective funding) can not be funded.

- Energy-efficient equipment such as lighting, boilers or insulation

Eligible organizations:
- Small or medium-sized business in England, Wales or Scotland

Funding:
- Loans £3,000 to £100,000 at 0% fixed interest

Funding available for:
- all energy efficiency capital investment projects that:
- deliver energy, cost and carbon savings
- with the monetary savings being returned to the central fund to finance further energy efficiency improvements.

Funding requirements:
- Measures which reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions
- Projects on the local authority’s / Scottish Water’s / Health Board’s property
- Projects which have a simple payback of 5 years for energy efficiency

Scotland: Scottish Community Foundation Strengthening Communities
Funding available for:
- All energy efficiency projects
|
Eligible region: Scotland
Scheme type: Any schemes
Eligible organisation types:
- smaller organisations that have an income of less than £250,000 per annum
|
Community Grants:
- grants of up to £5,000
- up to 100% of the relevant costs
- for relatively small projects, where the funding amount requested is at least 25% of the total project costs
- Activities for more than 12 months are not funded.
- Grants must be spent within one year.

NOT funded:
- Individuals & unconstituted groups
- Organisations with an income of over £250,000
- Grant requests for less than 25% of the total project cost
- Costs already incurred or activities which will take place before a decision on an application has been made (retrospective funding)

Northern Ireland -NIE Energy Commercial LED Lighting Offer
Funding available for:
- The capital costs of LED lighting. As a general rule this includes only the equipment itself.

Eligible region: Northern Ireland
Funding requirements:
- You must be in receipt of a grant offer letter from NIE Energy before proceeding with any work.
- LEDs must meet the LED Guidelines.
- Grants are only available for the purchase of new LEDs.
- Only one application will be permitted per commercial building with a maximum of one grant overall.
